Foire aux questions
What is a battery’s run time?
The run time of a battery depends mainly on its capacity (expressed inampere-hours, Ah), the type of tool used and the intensity of the effortrequired. A 2.5 Ah battery offers a shorter run time, but its lighterweight makes it ideal for tools that need to be handled at height. Conversely,a higher-capacity battery (5 Ah, 8 Ah, 12 Ah) is better suitedto demanding tools such as snow blowers or lawn mowers, as it allows extendeduse without frequent charging.
Will 62V batteries work with all Garant 62V tools?
Yes. All 62V batteries are compatible with all Garant 62V platformtools.
How do I know if my battery is charged?
Each battery is equipped with a 4 LED indicator for quickverification of its charge level:
· 4 green LEDs: 80–100% charge
· 3 LEDs: 60–80% charge
· 2 LEDs: 40–60% charge
· 1 LED: 20–40% charge
· 1 flashing LED: less than 20%, needs charging
If the LEDs do not light up, this may mean that the battery iscompletely discharged or that the indicator button has not been pressedcorrectly. In this case, charge the battery or press firmly on the center ofthe button for 2 to 5 seconds to reset the indicator.
Can I leave the battery on the charger when it’s full?
To maximize the life of the battery, It is preferable to remove it fromthe charger once it has been fully charged.
What’s the best way to store my battery?
To preserve the performance and longevity of your battery:
· Store the battery in a warm, dry place, awayfrom extreme cold or heat, so that it remains within an ideal temperature rangeof 4°C to 43°C.
· Keep the battery at a charge levelof between 30% and 50% for prolonged storage.
· Ifthe battery is not to be used for several months, charge it briefly every3 months.
Why is my battery hot after use or charging?
It is normal for the battery to feel warm after intensive use orcharging. The system automatically protectsthe cells when the temperature becomes too high. We recommend that you allowthe battery to cool down before charging, to preserve its life and ensure safeuse.
What should I do if my battery won’t charge?
Several factors can prevent the battery from charging properly:
- Unsuitable temperature: If the battery is too cold or too hot, the charger automatically suspends charging to protect it (indicator lights flashing). Wait for the battery to return to room temperature before charging it.
- Bad connection: Check that the battery is correctly inserted in the charger and that the contacts are clean.
- Battery discharged below 0 °C: If the battery has been discharged at a temperature below 0°C, it must be warmed up before it can be charged.
- Thermal protection activated: The charger’s safety system can interrupt charging if the battery gets too hot.
Make sure the battery temperatureis above 4°C. Place the battery at roomtemperature (approx. 20°C) for 30 minutes. Then reinsert it into the charger to restart the charging process.
What are battery protection devices?
Thebatteries are fitted with safety devices that protect the lithium-ion cells andoptimize battery life. When these mechanisms are activated, the tool can stopautomatically to prevent damage. The main protection scenarios are:
- Excessive temperature: If the battery is too hot or too cold, the power supply to the tool is interrupted. Allowing the battery to return to normal temperature before resuming use is recommended.
- Overcharge or deep discharge: If the battery is overcharged or completely discharged, the system cuts the power supply to preserve the cells.
- Exceeding maximum current: If the current demand exceeds the battery capacity, the tool stops automatically. To reset, release the trigger and press again.
- Stopping procedure: If the tool still doesn’t work after these checks, charge the battery before trying again.
