At Garant, we believe that sustainable performance requires concrete action. The following is an overview of the initiatives we’ve put in place to reduce our environmental impact and promote responsible resource management.
Materials Reduction and Reclamation
Integrating and Recovering Metallic Materials
Our steel products contain up to 70% recycled material. We also recover between 500 and 600 tons of steel and aluminum annually from our operations, helping to keep these materials in a continuous reclamation cycle.
Reusing 100% of Our Plastic Waste
All our plastic residues are crushed and reintegrated into the manufacture of new products, in particular our black product lines. No plastic waste is sent to landfill.
VOC-Free Powder Paint
We use volatile organic compound (VOC)-free powder paint and recover around 95% of the powder used in our cabins, reducing waste and emissions.
Energy Optimization
Wood Residues Reclaimed Onsite
Wood residues from our production, such as handle tips, are used to heat the plant and power our industrial dryers. This internal reclamation reduces the need to purchase external energy and limits transport.
Closed Water Circuit
Our injection moulding machines operate with a closed-circuit cooling system. No additional water is required to cool our equipment.
Responsible Sourcing and Partnerships
Responsible North American Sourcing
All our wood comes from North American suppliers selected for the quality and proximity of their supply.
Regional Industrial Symbiosis
We work with local factories and farms to optimize waste management. This approach reduces the need for transportation and contributes to the reduction of GHG emissions.
