INNOVATION TO MAKE THE JOB EASIER

From our beginning in the forge of blacksmith Télesphore Garant, we have been working to develop innovative products and techniques to make hard work easier. In those early days, Garant’s research and development consisted of talking with the farmers who came to the forge for wheels and plow heads. Today, our R&D is still driven by talking and working with the men and women who use our tools every day. Based on their experiences, we continually refine our products to deliver better, faster results with less work.

The result is tools that put the power back in your hands, from shovels that make quick work of any snow pile to axes that cut your woodpile down to size.

BUILT BY CANADIANS FOR CANADIANS

Today, our furnaces are still firing in Saint-François, where our employees manufacture more than 11 million tools each year. Our saws are still running in Woodstock, New Brunswick, where our wooden handles are milled. And the wheels are still turning as we find new ways to bring innovative tools people want to market. More than 400 dedicated employees work in our two facilities today, manufacturing, assembling and distributing Garant products for sale in garden centres, specialty hardware stores and home building centres in Canada, the USA and Europe.

TRUSTED BY PROFESSIONALS AND HOMEOWNERS

Our brands include some of the most trusted tools on the market in Canada and beyond. Professionals and homeowners seek Garant tools for their quality, durability and innovative features that help them get hard tasks done faster with less strain and fatigue.

ALWAYS MOVING FORWARD

Over the years, the Garant family and our company faced many challenges. When one of their most popular products, the wooden wagon wheel, was replaced by the rubber tire, the Garants shifted all of their resources into their growing tool business. They succeeded because they were constantly tinkering with new ideas and testing new ways to solve the common problems of their day. When the market changed, the Garants were ready to change with it.

What was true in 1895 is just as true today: a company that stands still becomes obsolete. At Garant, we are always striving to meet the needs of tomorrow’s market—not just today’s.
